Identify existing literature on the subject of environmental activism and study emblematic cases of violent radicalisation within environmental movements

Desk research and literature review: research of case studies, chronicles and literature on the phenomenon of environmental activism and the issue of violent radicalisation within environmental movements

At least 100 bibliographic sources consulted on the topic of violent radicalisation, violent radicalisation in youth activism and specifically in environmental activism; At least 5 case studies of violent radicalisation phenomena in environmental activism representative of partner countries (1 per country)

To describe and understand university students' attitudes and opinions on environmental sustainability and climate change issues, their level of environmental literacy and their perceived self-efficacy on the topicQuantitative research on attitudes and drivers of environmental activismA quantitative research based on methodologies and measurement scales used and already validated in the literature for the study of attitudes and opinions, to allow comparison of collected data with past and future research

Understand the phenomenon of youth participation in movements promoting environmental sustainability and combating climate change and the factors that may favour the violent radicalisation of people on these issues

Qualitative research on violent radicalisation linked to environmental activism and prevention

To outline of qualitative interviews, case study guidelines and conduct of focus groups developed according to the methodological principles of qualitative research

Report the results of the research activities and develop a framework of strategies to prevent violent radicalisation in environmental activism based on the results of the research and the link between them and theories

Data analysis and report processingA report of the research activities containing an analysis of the data collected taking into account data from all countries involved in the partnership and a breakdown of the data for each of the countries where a HEI partner is present
